Things to See and Do

The Cotswolds

To the south of Shakespeare Country the rolling countryside merges with the Cotswold hills.

Here you'll find honey-coloured villages and bustling market towns, such as Chipping Campden, Broadway and Stow-on-the-Wold. Explore a classic English landscape of gentle hills with drystone walls and grazing sheep.

Discover charming villages such as Lower Brailes, distinguished by its historic parish church known as the 'cathedral of the Feldon'. Or Kineton with its market square - a reminder of days when it had its own cattle market. The village also gained notoriety when the first battle of the English Civil War took place nearby at Edgehill.

Enjoy a great variety of interesting and distinctive attractions. Go behind the scenes and see how perfume is made at Cotswold Perfumery. See eagles, hawks and owls in flight at the Cotswold Falconry Centre. And be sure to enjoy a glass of award-winning beer at Hook Brewery at Hook Norton.

Visit Blenheim Palace, a World Heritage Site, masterpiece of English Baroque architecture and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. The Palace is set in spectacular parkland with sweeping lawns and formal gardens. Explore other Cotswold garden treasures at Hidcote Manor, Kiftsgate and Snowshill and, on a much smaller scale, Mill Dene Garden, a relaxed, innovate and fun English country garden with a difference!
