Travelling to Shakespeare Country

Travelling to Shakespeare Country from London Heathrow

Train:
From London Heathrow airport, take the London Underground Piccadilly line towards Cockfosters. Change at Piccadilly Circus and take the Bakerloo line towards Harrow and Wealdstone, changing at Marylebone Station. From there take a mainline train to Royal Leamington Spa, Warwick or Stratford-upon-Avon.

Road:
As you leave London Heathrow airport, follow signs for the M4 (direction west). From there join the M25 (north) and then M40 motorways. Leave the M40 at junction 15, from where you can drive to Warwick or Stratford-upon-Avon.


Travelling to Shakespeare Country from London

Train:
Chiltern Railways run two trains an hour, seven days a week between Marylebone and Leamington Spa and Warwick. There are also direct trains from London Marylebone to Stratford-upon-Avon every two hours. On the way you will travel through the beautiful countryside of Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire. The trains have large picture windows so you can enjoy the lovely views as you make your way to the heart of Shakespeare Country in less than 2 hours.

Road:
If you're travelling to Shakespeare Country by road, the M40 or M1 and M45 motorways are the most direct routes. The journey time is around two hours.
